A former casino employee was sentenced to two weeks' jail and fined $2,000 on Wednesday for pocketing $500.

Koh Jin Wee, 28, was working at Resorts World Senotsa as a casino cage supervisor when he misappropriated $500 on Jan 29.

The court heard that the offence came to light when Koh's colleague, casino cage assistant manager Teoh Ho Chew, 25, found a $100 note at the main cage office walkway and alerted the security.

On reviewing the footage, it was revealed that the $100 note had fallen out of Koh's right sock while he was walking.
