Liow Ngap Fatt would insist on wearing sunglasses in the Marina Bay Sands casino, which is against the rules. On some occasions, the 60-year-old Malaysian would also annoy other guests.
On Feb 1, the casino issued him a notice declaring him persona non grata and banning him from entering its premises. He was back 10 days later.
When security officers asked him to follow them, he continued sitting on the floor and refused to move.
Police were called in and on Thursday, Liow was fined $500 by a district court. He pleaded guilty to committing criminal trespass.
Asking for a light fine, Liow said that he had been diagnosed in 1996 as suffering from depressive psychosis and was still taking undergoing treatment.
