A woman was charged on Wednesday with a capital case of heroin trafficking.

Lee Kim Hwa, 54, a former childcare teacher, is said to have had a bundle of substance weighing 457.18g, believed to be heroin, for the purpose of trafficking near Block 1 Rhu Cross in Tanjong Rhu on Sept 21.

Her case will be mentioned on Oct 20.

Anyone convicted of trafficking in more than 15g of heroin faces the mandatory death penalty.
