SHAH ALAM - It was a brutal murder by any standard a Bangladeshi killed with injuries to the head, face and abdomen, and put under a pile of plywood and bricks. But what made it worse was it happened right in backyard of the police, at the Kuala Kubu Baru police academy.
It came as a rude shock when the body of the labourer was found under the rubble near a seniors officers quarter which is under construction.
Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Mohd Adnan Abdullah said police were alerted after another construction worker made the discovery at 11.15am on Monday.
He said initial investigations revealed the body was that of a Bangladeshi construction worker, identified as Farouq Sheikh, 30.
"The injuries could have been made with a sharp object," he said at the Selangor police headquarters.
He said the body had been sent to the Kuala Kubu Baru hospital for post-mortem.
Police have arrested two Bangladeshis and an Indonesian, aged between 21 and 29.
"The three men, who were the victim's colleagues, were arrested at the construction site," he said, adding that police believed the victim had an argument with the three.
"We have remanded the three until Tuesday," he said.
