A PLAYER with a local football club was slashed to death after withdrawing money from an ATM at a bank in Jalan Sultan Yusuff, Ipoh, reported Sinar Harian.
During the 9.15am incident on Saturday, T. Eswaran, 27, was about to get into his car when three masked men suddenly attacked him with their parang.
Eswaran, who also worked as a lorry driver, sustained serious wounds on his head and hands.
He died at the Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun on the same day.
Police had recorded statements from three of Eswaran’s friends who were with him at the time of the incident.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
> The tabloid also highlighted the rescue of a college student, who was held at a house in Taman Tasik Semenyih, Selangor, after being kidnapped.
The nineteen-year-old student from Bahrain was found by police blindfolded on a bed with his hands and feet tied.
However, aside from scratches on his body, the youth suffered no serious injuries.
Seven men, who were in their twenties, had been detained in relation to the kidnapping. It was believed that the student knew the men who locked him up in the rented house.
Police also found and seized four parang, a knife, drugs, 11 handphones, three computers, a watch, an LCD TV and a Play Station in the house.
> Sinar Harian reported that drama actress Rabecca Nur Al Islam, known for her sexy image, had sold off all her revealing clothes after coming back from Mecca.
“Whoever’s interested in purchasing my outfits can contact my personal assistant.
“For all the clothes below RM700, I will give them out for free,” she had announced.
However, the Dejavu Di Kinabalu actress said this did not mean that she would reject any acting offer, vowing that she would never leave the industry that she loved.
“As long as I have proper clothing to cover my body, I will consider every film role, even if I have to be the antagonist,” she said.
Her husband, Nor Azam Datuk Sulaiman, had expressed surprise by her commitment to change her image.
