This year, we have a crop of women who show that age - or even gender - is no stumbling block to how babelicious you can be.

JULIANA JUNE RASUL, KWOK KAR PENG and CHARLENE CHUA present the three nominees whose ages range from 17 to '50'

1. CHRISTY YOW

She was reluctant to call herself pretty because she didn't want to sound proud.

But the 23-year-old model-turned-actress hasn't been as modest in her publicity photos.

Her eye-popping 34C assets (originally 36C before she lost weight) was, er, thrust into the limelight this year when she agreed to play cabaret stripper Rose Chan in Eric Khoo's upcoming movie Chinese Rose.

Before that, the Ipoh-born babe posed in bikinis for a local lad mag last December.

But her chest isn't her most babelicious feature, she told us. It's her lips.

'It's not a full pout and not perfectly heart-shaped but I feel pretty when I put on lipstick, even though everything about me is messy,' she said.

While some girls were born ugly ducklings and metamorphosed into swans, Christy said she has always been pretty.

But she admitted to being an 'action' tomboy who avoided wearing skirts till she turned 18 years old.

She even confessed that she didn't want to wear a bra when she reached puberty.

She said candidly: 'I was 12 and very boyish. I didn't understand why I had to wear a bra, especially since my friends were still wearing singlets.

'So I refused to wear one until my mother told me I had to learn to protect myself.'

She wore the binding sports bras when she was 16 after classmates teased her about her bosom.

Though she hopes she will win Babe of the Year - past title-holders include Fiona Xie, Rui En and Jade Seah - she thinks even the 'really, really hot' Singapore Idol3 babe Tabitha Nauser will be no match for her onscreen mum and fellow nominee Aunty Lucy.

Christy plays her daughter in their made-for-DVD movie Aunties United.

She explained: 'She has supporters from age 3 to 70. Everybody likes her.'

2. AUNTY LUCY

'Of course, I'll win! Because my chest is the biggest!' proclaimed the36D heartland hottie.

Fifty and fabulous, Aunty Lucy - as portrayed by radio DJ-actor-host Dennis Chew - burst out from Channel 8 variety show Paris And Milan to score her own spin-off movie, Aunties United.

Now that's what we call girl power.

Aunty Lucy has had a small makeover since - yes, we're sure all the hot-blooded uncles in the neighbourhood have noticed.

Her clothes are now tighter and her hair a little wavier.

She confessed to revelling in her success and all the 'bling' - this lady's down with it! - she wore when she attended the Singapore Hit Awards recently.

But don't expect motherly love from Aunty Lucy.

She was quick to pan her onscreen offspring and babe rival Christy Yow.

She said: 'I'm not only beautiful on the outside, I'm beautiful on the inside - I've got a very kind heart. Besides, my behind is perkier.'

We remind Aunty Lucy that she's also up against Tabitha Nauser, whom TV viewers voted to the Top 3 of Singapore Idol.

Frightened, Aunty?

The lovable nosey-parker was unfazed.

'Tabitha's not bad. But I'm very talented. I can host, act... I can also sing.'

Ooh, catfight!

3. TABITHA NAUSER

In the midst of going 'Oh my God, oh my God' over the phone while being told of her nomination, the Singapore Idol 3 third-placer blurted out: 'No one's ever used that word (babe) to describe me.'

That's a little hard to believe, considering she was voted prom queen in secondary school.

And if they're giving out consolation prizes at the Idol finale on 27Dec, she should take home Idol Babe.

Somewhere during the Top 12 heats, the 17-year-old morphed from a sweet, Vanessa Hudgens type to a full-on diva, rocking short skirts and big hair.

'It's definitely the hair,' said Tabitha, describing her makeover.

'The stylists wanted me to look younger, so they gave me bangs. And I had a lot of fun changing my hair colour on the show.'

Or perhaps she's just fulfilling her genetic destiny - her mum, Saras, an Indian Singaporean, was the fourth runner-up at Miss Singapore World in the late '80s.

Tabitha's dad, Andreas, is Swiss.

Her shock at being nominated for Babe of the Year, though, is not fake humility.

She said she was a soccer-playing tomboy for most of her primary school days and is still quite 'loud'.

She also resisted a softer persona on Idol, preferring instead to mimic Beyonce and other divas.

'I didn't really want to be the cute, sweet girl,' she said.

She's not familiar with her fellow contenders, but said it will be a hoot if she loses to Aunty Lucy.

'That's so funny!' she said of the latter's nomination.

Before that, the Ipoh-born babe posed in bikinis for a local lad mag last December.

so she is not sinkie-born, that explains it.

'Of course, I'll win! Because my chest is the biggest!' proclaimed the36D heartland hottie.

That's sinkie arrogance for you. A thai beauty will never proclaim in such a way.

Thai beauty," Thank you very much. I am very flattered and the support i am getting encourage me to strive harder in this work."
