Local prosecutor general Ahmad Bighlari said the men had been found guilty of repeat offences.
Their names were not disclosed but he said they were all aged "a little over 25." Under Iran's Shariah-based Islamic law, amputation is the penalty for crimes such as repeated thefts. With poverty on the rise, the number of amputations in the Islamic republic has also been increasing.
