Fishmongers pistol-whipped by robbers
IPOH: Two fishmongers at the Menglembu Wholesale Market were pistol-whipped in the back of their head by masked robbers. In the 8pm incident on Wednesday, the victims were with three other men when five robbers arrived in a car, four of them brandishing pistols and parang. “One of the robbers fired a shot in the air, causing the five to run helter skelter,” Ipoh acting OCPD Supt Ibrahim Abu Bakar said yesterday.
The robbers hit two of the fleeing victims with the butt of their pistols. The two received outpatient treatment at Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun. The robbers got away with more than RM3,000 that was in a bag dropped by one of the victims while running away.
