A woman was fined $6,000 and banned from driving for three years on Tuesday for causing the death of a cleaner along the carpark driveway of a condominium.
Low Sau Foong, 60, was driving a car out of a multi-storey carpark along the carpark driveway at The Anchorage condominium on June 18, 2008, when she turned into a lane against the flow of traffic, resulting in the car running over a metal grill, causing it to crush the head of Chinese national Liang Xu, 23.
The court heard that she had failed to see the cleaner lying horizontally on the road behind a lifted metal grill while he was clearing the drain.
The car then ran over the metal grill, which crushed Mr Liang's head.
