STOMPer William sent in pictures of last night’s flaring at Pulau Bukom, and wonders when the pollution will stop.

According to the STOMPer, the flaring has been going on for the past few weeks.

In an email to STOMP today (Apr 1), the STOMPer says:

“Here are more pictures of the flaring at Pulau Bukom taken last night.”

According to STOMPer William, there has been smoke emerging from the shell refinery off Pulau Bukom for weeks. What is happening, the STOMPer wonders.

In an email to STOMP today (Mar 31), the STOMPer says:

"Just last week, I wrote in regarding the pollution off west coast.

"Today at 1pm, I noticed that the pollution continues. This is happening even though the NEA officer called me last week to inform me that the flaring has stopped. According to him, Shell was opening a new refinery and needed to flare off the chimneys - perhaps to test/flush the refinery system?

"However, that activity has ended, so why is there still pollution?

"What is happening?

"Why isn't Shell issuing a press release?"

dear william...those stompers who 'attacked' u are most probably staff from pulau bukom....just ignore them...let the relevant ministry confirm that such flaring is not harmful to human beings. U can write/email to ministry of environment for clarification.

Hey ɽ¹ês, there would be more pollution if not for the flaring. Those working in this industry would know.

one good reason for the flare happening is you posting this unnecessary post on stomp. stop wasting electricity on this and the flare will occur lesser.

You should see the thick black smoke caused by the flares

The flaring actually cuts pollution. Go read up on it before showing your IQ.

Pulau Bukom flaring goes on for weeks: When will the pollution end?

When everyone, including you, William, gives up all eletrical devices and go back to farming

They still need to work to provide power for our electricity.Or maybe we should use solar energy instead? O.0
Btw,the smoke/gas that's produced is safe,it doesn't kill people instantly.
