Family reunited after falling prey to traffickers
A FAMILY from China, who were victims of human trafficking, was reunited 30 years later, reported Nanyang Siang Pau. In 1980, Li Shiqun had followed her uncle’s neighbours to another city to visit her husband Wu Maosheng, who was working there.
She brought along her son and daughter. Instead, Li and her daughter were sold to a family and the son Jiubing to another. Later, Li escaped with the daughter and reunited with Maosheng but the son was nowhere to be found.
The family thought they would never meet Jiubing again. In May, police found new clues to the human trafficking case and reopened the file.
They finally found Jiubing, who was sold to a 75-year-old single man as a son, and arranged for him to reunite with the family.
