Family puzzled over constant harassment by vandals

KLUANG: A housewife who has not borrowed money from loan sharks is baffled why her house has been splashed with red paint more than five times by some vandals in the last month. Chian Tsuey Jen, 49, said the first time the culprits splashed her porch with paint was at 2.30am on Aug 28.

“I woke up that night after I heard a loud bang and a motorcycle accelerating. Since then, these vandals have continued to splash my house with paint four more times,” she said, adding that they even threw paint at her Toyota Vios which was parked in the porch on Sept 10.

Target of vandals: A worker hired by Chian cleaning the red paint that was splashed on her home. Her house has been splashed with paint five times in the last month.

Chian said she had spent more than RM5,000 to clean her house and remove the paint from her car. “I have no clue why these people have targeted my house as none of my family members has made any deal with loan sharks,” she told The Star when met at her home in Jalan Haji Dahlan Dikon, near Taman Kluang Baru, recently.

Chian added that the events had stressed out her husband, who has a heart condition. She added that she had lodged five police reports but nothing had been done to apprehend the culprits. Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Fawzi Arshad said the cases would be investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief. He said anyone with information should contact the police hotline at 07-221 2999.
