Chan: “When I was the commanding officer of 2nd battalion Singapore Infantry Regiment, my runner (signaller), he’s an illegal VCD seller. So do you pigeonhole him?

He’s extremely loyal to the mission and the unit. He told me, ‘Sir, can you tell me when is the battalion proficiency test?’ I said this and this – these are the dates.

He said, ‘Ok Sir, I need to tell you I’m going to surrender to the Police, and I’m going to Changi (Prison). But I promise you I will come back in time for the battalion proficiency test to chiong with you. But Sir, after that can you allow me to surrender again for my next offence?

I grew up on the left hand of the bell curve. I have a lot of experiences with such brothers. I learnt the word ‘brothers’ way before I joined the labour movement, My soldiers were the ones who told me, ‘Sir, don’t worry. Anywhere you go in Singapore, our brothers will take care of you.'”

Moderator: ‘Are you still friends with them?’

Chan: “They are still my brothers.

He ain't heav, he's my brother in thief!

Is he pretending to be Chan ....Hou Nam?

Why else do you think I call him "Bro Chun Sing"? We are the Band of Brothers!!!

Wahlan! Boy scout -general wants to show the world he is hard-boiled surrounded by loyal brothers. I think he is just being delusional. His soldiers carried his balls because he is their commander so as to avoid unnecessary further trouble. In the first place why must comrade/cadre Chan need to burnish his nerdy/sissy image by alluding to his "underworld" connections? So unbecoming and so false! :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

Most sinkies are impressionable and easily manipulated, while some suffer from delusions of grandeur.:roflmao:

haha very funny indeed. During my time, I avoid these " hokkien peng " (I'm hokkien myself) like a plague as they are nothing but full of trouble and excuses.
An early dose of weekend/public holiday guard duty usually does the trick except for the very hard core who goes in and out of DB like their second home

It's heartening to see that even gangsters have more loyalty towards Singapore than oppies like chee and low. The gangsters are willing to chiong for the mission and the battalion.
