Following a posting on STOMP, the police have arrested a man who had earlier claimed to be a police officer from the Secret Society Branch (SSB) in order to intimidate another road user.
Annoyed by the speed at which a STOMPer's friend was driving up a slope at the Plaza Singapura carpark, the man had confronted him in a threatening fashion. The friend had recorded a video of the man and made a police report following the incident.
A spokesperson for the Singapore Police Force provided the following information:
"In response to media queries on the STOMP posting Friend's wife pregnant, so he drives slowly - but cop intimidates him over this on June 4, Police confirm that the man who claimed to be a police officer from the Secret Society Branch (SSB) is not a police officer.
"In fact, Police have arrested the 32-year old Chinese man following a police report made.
"Preliminary investigations revealed that he had mentioned that he was a police officer to scare the complainant.
"Investigations are still ongoing."
