A three-year-old girl has been raped on a bus despite her five-year-old brother pleading with the man to leave her alone, police in Kolkata said today.
Sheikh Munna, 45, is accused of dragging the toddler onto a parked luxury bus after catching her attention by offering her chocolate.
When she screamed, her brother - with whom she was playing beforehand - ran over to the bus and banged on the door in an attempt to persuade the suspect to release her.

The boy then ran to tell his mother, a widowed rag-seller, who in turn told neighbours, NDTV reports.
The neighbours then rescued the young girl from the bus and proceeded to beat the suspect, who is a bus cleaner, before calling the police.
'We found the girl lying in a pool of blood on a bus seat,' a senior police officer said.
'The child's clothes were torn and she was bleeding profusely.'
He added that the alleged rapist had blood on his trousers and hands.
The girl is being treated at a hospital - where one doctor said the 'signs are clear that she had been brutalised'.

'Possibly she will survive,' the doctor added.
Police said tests are ongoing to determine if the girl was indeed raped.
Forensics officers are also performing tests on blood and stains found on the bus.
The bus itself has also been seized, according to the Times of India.
