SALES for corporate tickets at this year's Formula One race have been encouraging so far given the current economic climate, says race promoter Singapore GP (SGP).

Sixty per cent of the 4,000 Paddock Club tickets have been taken up, while 40 per cent of the 160 corporate hospitality suites released so far have been sold.
Due to the changes to the pit entry location and modifications to Turn 23, the remaining 20 corporate suites at Pit Entry near Turn 23 have not been put up for sale yet. According to SGP, buyers of the corporate suites are from various industries including financial services, shipping and lifestyle.
'Suites at the prime viewing locations continue to sell well as their limited number ensures a high level of exclusivity,' said Darren Chen, SGP's director for corporate sales. Corporate suites such as Turn 2 Sky, Turn 1 Sky and Turn 1 Club Suites are already fully sold or close to sell out.
'Our new lower priced entry level product, The Green Room, has proved popular with companies looking to maximise budgets,' he added. This new, cheaper suite option is priced at $3,388.
At the same time, some corporate clients appear to be adopting a wait-and-see approach in light of the weakening economy and the fact that prices of the Paddock Club tickets and some of the more popular corporate suites - such as the Pit Straight - are higher this year.
