<!-- START OF : div id="storytext"--><!-- more than 4 paragraphs -->EARLIER this year, I received a notification letter from TransitLink that I needed to replace my auto top-up ez-link card with the new Cepas-compliant card by July 27. Come July 27, I was told the new card with auto Giro top-up would be available only from Aug 27.
When I went to an MRT ticket booth on Aug 28, I was told that I had to fill in a form to apply for the auto Giro top-up (now known as EZ-Reload), a process that took 21 days to process.
I filled in the form and sent it the next day.
It is now coming to mid-October and I have yet to receive a reply from TransitLink regarding my application.
The previous ez-link card only took five minutes to link up for auto Giro top-up with an ATM card at any MRT station general ticketing machine.
Why is the Land Transport Authority taking so long to roll out this service? The least it could do is to extend the use of the old card until the EZ-Reload feature is ready.
Four calls I made to the EZ-Reload inquiry hotline received the standard response that I would receive a reply within the next few days. It has been three weeks since my first call and I am still waiting for an update.
