A STOMPer who was at the Executive Look finals held at VivoCity says that much of the crowd were unhappy with the results, after hot favourites like Chovin Blix Ong and Meryl Koh failed to clinch the top spot in the Female category.
The STOMPer recounted:
“A big brooch on her hair, which was styled like a poodle -- is that the winner of the My Paper Exec Look 2009 contest?
“No, right? But yes, this person Evelyn Pang, was last night given the prestigious crown.
“The scientific affairs associate (what sort of occupation is that?) beat 18 other male and female contestants to win the MYP Exec Look contest.
“She won a cool $10,000. Where did the judges come from? Mars?
“Their decision was certainly not a popular one, as the crowd reaction showed. There were murmurs of disapproval.
“People felt that firstly, she was not good looking.
“Secondly, it is more important for a contest to look for the most personable executive; she could not speak well or carry herself well.
“Many of those present at VivoCity, a vocal lot, felt that Singapore Cricket Club events manager Chovin Blix Ong or Meryl Koh should have won.
“And what happened to the guys? The judges are all ‘buaya’’ or what and not interested in the qualities of guys?
“’Shuai Ger’ Dominic Ng should have clinched the crown.”
So STOMPers, who do you think should have won?
