Published on Mar 2, 2012

A 38-year-old ex-restaurant manager was arrested on Thursday for allegedly stealing about $5,600 in cash from a restaurant located at Victoria Street.

He had entered the restaurant premises after it was closed, and stole money from the safe by opening it with a key that was left unattended.

Through extensive enquiries and investigations, officers from the Central Police Division managed to establish the identity of the suspect and arrested him along Chai Chee Avenue.

This was after a total of $5,611 in cash was reported missing from the restaurant's safe on Monday.
