Ex-purchasing supervisor jailed 6 weeks for graft

A former purchasing supervisor of an engineering services company was jailed for six weeks and ordered to pay a total penalty of $169,769 on Wednesday for corruption.
Ho Fook Liang, 35, who faced 35 corruption charges, admitted to seven counts of accepting between $3,950 and $17,689 from Wee Chin Chye, through Raymond Tang Kok Peng, in return for recommending business to BM Hardware and Unesis Engineering in 2007 and 2008.
The total amount involved in the proceeded charges is $68,448.
Ho was responsible for sourcing for items and services for his employer, BJ Services, from various suppliers.
