If the judge sentence u to 8 months (24 weeks), the prison SOP, will give u discount (irregardless of "good behaviour"). SOP will formally inform you of your ERD (earliest release date) on your official interview with you. This is for every inmates, unless is a PD (preventation detention) or CT (collective training case).

Next, all inmates will be further given another 8 weeks, in Home Detention or WRS (work release scheme). Only those repeat offenders, violence, drug cases, or those without family support will not be given this scheme.

Of course, if you commit any major offence (fighting, smoking, drug, etc. ) in prison.. then the above will be taken away.

It is interesting to note that he paid back the money. If he has the money to repay back, why steal the $78000 in the first place?

Oh dear, I wish him well. He was a good soldier of our establishment but a moment of folly resulted in his actions. But his care for his family is most important. I am sure he will repent and still continue to serve his nation and PAP in whatever capacity possible.
