<!-- START OF : div id="storytext"--><!-- more than 4 paragraphs -->I was sad to read last Sunday's report, 'Long-time Dempsey Village tenants move out'.
How can the new landlord raise the rentals now, when there is a global economic crisis?
It will be an understandable move if the economy is booming, but we are facing dire times - businesses are finding it tough to stay afloat and many people have lost, or are going to lose, their jobs.
What the new landlord ought to do is help these long-time tenants - who had loyally stayed put in the area - weather the present crisis, instead of increasing the rents. Ace Kindred Cheong
