Yes. In case you haven't been noticing, there are more and more Burmese food joints in the heartlands.
You don't see such a trend with Vietnamese or Thai cuisine.

It's no longer just a niche exotic thing in Peninsula Plaza.

My theory is that the PAP govt made a deal with the Myanmar military junta: in exchange for free trade/investments and a petition to formally join ASEAN, Singapore will let Myanmar nationals enter Singapore freely for jobs and education.

I've already seen Myanmar doctors in polyclinics and even the Bloodbank @HSA. They are coming.

There are now about 900,000 PRCs on employment pass, work permit, student pass and dependent pass

The population is now 5.1 million, compared to the long term aspirational target of 6.5 million

It would be ideal that the PRC number here be raised to 2 million out of the 6.5 million, then we will have good economic future and continued stability

China is the fastest growing economic power and there is much for Singapore if we leverage on its opening up and its growth

Look at how Capitaland and Captamalls have been performing, any wonder at all

Love China and life will be good, this I promise

I love China, I hope one day you will too

That's nothing compared to more than 2.5 million Chinamen who refuse to go home.

So do we have stats on the other nationalities living in SG, also?

Burmese: 100,000
PRC: 900,000
Filipinos:
Indians:
Bangladeshis:
Malaysians:
Sri Lankans:
Indonesians:
Where else?:
-----

At the end of the day, it may be possible that actual Singaporeans may number fewer than a million! :o

Why are we doing this? Just to keep the racial ratio in balance?

At least the Burmese have the guts to vote for NLD. And they have the resilience to keep the fight going for more than 20 years until they once again got the chance and once again voted for NLD.

I'd suggest Thai minority certificate (or at least Thai language certificate) must be required for candidate standing in M-K GRC Kg. Glam division (Beach Road - Golden Mile). I'll volunteer to be assentor.
