Elections Dept officials changed

According to the Elections Department website, there are changes made by the PM on the appointments of assistant registration officers and a new appointment was made on the revising officer.

Two assistant registration officers have been removed (appointments have been revoked) while three new ones are being appointed. One new revising officer has been appointed.

This is pretty intriguing as it is not common to have such big changes on the Elections Dept HR. Anyone knows what are the roles of these appointment holders?

In first world countries, the Election Department do not come under the command of the Prime Minister, who himself is an election candidate right ?

Nothing to show off really. It was announced in Elections Department Gazette.

I am just curious of such manpower movement. It would mean an increase in the officials in elections department; i.e. two removed while four appointed. Such movement is particularly interesting in view of a possible elections this year.

Any ideas which of the GRCs are being contested?

I don't know anything about the Elections Dept, however, are they going to increase the number of balloting boxes?

If they are, there would be more voting for the GRCs
