Eight men arrested for offences under Common Gaming House Act

SINGAPORE : Eight men have been arrested in a joint operation between Bedok Police Division and the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority.
Aged between 34 and 57, the men were arrested for offences under the Common Gaming House Act.
Officers from both Home Team agencies raided a shophouse unit along Lorong 13 Geylang and placed the eight suspects under arrest for operating and gaming in an illegal gaming centre on Tuesday.
Illegal jackpot machines and improvised computers used for on-line casino gaming were also discovered .
Cash of about S$1,900, 29 jackpot machines, a horse racing machine and other gambling-related paraphernalia were also seized. - CNA/ms
