PARIS: Surrounded by little girls and mocked at school when he first tried ballet, it took serious determination for Luca Abdel-Nour to become the first Egyptian prizewinner at the prestigious Prix de Lausanne.
The international competition in Switzerland has been one of the leading showcases for young ballet talent since it began in 1973.
Abdel-Nour, 17, took three prizes, including second overall and the audience award, at the latest instalment in February, and hopes his success can inspire more boys from the Middle East to overcome their prejudices about dance.
Born to a French mother but growing up in Cairo, he performed in dance and theatre shows with his school as a young boy.

The bread basket of the roman empire was egypt. Without its fertile river basin, rome would have stsrved to death.

Unfortunately no. Alexander stayed on in egypt till his death at a young age. The city of skexadria now partly lies under the depth of the mediteranean. You can see some old building on shore and the rest, especially the famous harbour, are underwater.

Huh? Didn't Alexander the great die of malaria in India?

And yeah he conquered many parts of the ancient world. But it doesn't change the fact that the ancient Pharaohs who designed the pyramids aren't the same race of dumb shitskin Egyptians living there this day. DNA analysis of mummies have already confirmed this

New clues to the lost tomb of Alexander the Great discovered in Egypt
Excavations in Alexandria's ancient royal quarter provide intriguing hints to the famous conqueror's final resting place.

It was the last hour of the last day of a long, frustrating dig, and Calliope Limneos-Papakosta was ready to go home. For 14 years the Greek archaeologist had been scouring Shallalat Gardens, a public park in the heart of Alexandria, Egypt, for traces of Alexander the Great, the ancient conqueror-turned-pharaoh who gave the city his name. Now it was time to leave—empty-handed.
Then a bit of soil shifted in the pit and Papakosta’s assistants called her over to inspect a piece of white marble poking out of the dirt. She had been disappointed in the dig, but when Papakosta saw the flash of white stone, she felt a surge of hope.
“I was praying,” she says. “I hoped that it was not just a piece of marble.”
Her prayer was answered. The artifact turned out to be an early Hellenistic statue bearing every hallmark of Alexander the Great. It was a powerful incentive for the discouraged archaeologist to keep digging.

Just for your information, cleopatra is one of Alexander's greek general's descendant. And not that of egyptian pharoah. After alexander's death, his generals split the empire among themselves. That is why greek was the official language of the middle east, despite coming under roman rule later.

Alexander the great named several cities after himself.

And I don't know why you keep bringing him up. The great age of the Pharaohs was at least two millennia before he was born. And since then Egypt had been raped and pillaged many times over the span of 6 thousand years.

Islam, Indians and the camel fuckers have little to do with Egypt's glorious past. Go read a few more books and stop believing wholesale what your imam told you last Friday
