She survived her stomach cancer in 2019.

Last year relapse in Aug but still fit and can take care herself.

During Dec became weaker and need care. No point chemotherapy since already 84. Past 2 weeks ago unable to eat and drink.

Only can feed her plain water soak in sponge for the last 5 days. This morning passed away peacefully at 11 am.

Heartache and painful to see her health deteriorated day and day, weight reduced until 39 kg.

Luckily I have 3 siblings took care of her. Seeing your loved one day and day getting weaker, unable to do anything to take over her suffering, when she in pain, only fed her with morphine. Bed ridden and wore adult diapers. Fell into semiconscious state, certain period woke up but unable to speak and asked her questions, she would move her head and wriggled her hand.

Yesterday night, accompany her til 10 pm and told her I going home and visit her tomorrow, she just waved her hand as acknowledgement.

This morning phone call by Bro knew jilat liao. Rushed down to see her but already gone.

Pain pain pain. Emotionally can't take it but she at least end the suffering. She was the pillar to hold our family during CNY gathering and visits.

Now gone and hold the wake.
一路走好跟着菩萨。

Haere Mai | Welcome to the Assisted Dying Service

Assisted dying involves a person who is experiencing unbearable suffering from a terminal illness taking or being given medication to end their life. There are strict eligibility criteria to have an assisted death. Not everyone with a terminal illness will be eligible. New Zealanders aged 18 or over who have a terminal illness that is likely to end their life within six months may be able to access assisted dying.
The service involves specific steps, medical assessments, and important safeguards. These are to ensure a person is eligible and that they are making the decision for themselves, without pressure from anyone else. The framework for the service, its eligibility criteria and safeguards, are set out in the law, called the End of Life Choice Act 2019. The Assisted Dying Service is overseen by the Ministry of Health Manatū Hauora.

Seeking a practitioner who provides assisted dying services

If you are considering assisted dying, you are encouraged to speak to your doctor or someone else in your health care team in the first instance. You will need to raise assisted dying, as they cannot raise this with you.
If your doctor does not provide assisted dying services, or you do not feel comfortable discussing this with them, you can contact the SCENZ Group for help to find a doctor who can help you. The SCENZ Group maintains the lists of medical and nurse practitioners and psychiatrists who are willing to provide parts of the assisted dying services. The secretariat will work with the Support and Consultation for End of Life in New Zealand (SCENZ) Group to coordinate all requests for practitioners who deliver parts of the assisted dying services.

When cancer strikes me I can tell the doctor to soylent green me.

Why not just get the doctor to pillow you? Why the need for this fanciful term 'soylent green' ?

If limpeh knows my time is up soon, Iimpeh will just OD myself with sleeping pills. The best way to die is to sleep/slip away peacefully.
