Economy getting worse... ppl cheating on cab fare!

Passenger disappears after promising to pay cab fare at hospital

STOMPer CareForTaxiDriver was swindled out of his cab fare when a passenger disappeared after he promised to pay the fare at Changi General Hospital.

In his email to STOMP, the STOMPer recounted:

“To all fellow taxi drivers, please beware of this passenger by the name of Daniel. On Nov 6 at around 1:35am, I picked up one male passenger at block 52 Toa Payoh Lorong 6.

“The male passenger informed me that he wanted to rush to Changi hospital as he was having asthma attack.

“He insisted I drive him to Changi Hospital as the hospital having all his past records.

“When we were along Braddell Road, he told me had forgotten his wallet and will pay me by internet banking transfer.

“I accepted his offer, as I had no other choice.

“He gave me his handphone number when we arrived at the hospital and he asked me to take a photo of him as an added assurance that he would honour his side of the agreement.

“For the next few days, i have been trying to contact him but to no avail, so I decided to lodge a police report.

“I wish to highlight to all fellow taxi drivers to be extra cautious of this male passenger.”

How much is the fare from TP to Changi, plus midnight fare...most likely $30 plus..Taxi driver..just forget the fare..and treat it as his duty to charity...why make noises..

Taxi drivers..cheat us all the time, they drive as slow as possible, if possible queue behind lorries etc... on the expressway..feign ignorant of shortcuts...etc...how to get to your destinantion, where most have gps maps in their display..

Such drivers like you described actually exists in sunny and safe Singapore?!?! Looks like I don't commute by cab on a daily basis to be amply experienced.

Oh that was many years ago in the city area. These dogs (look at their faces) behind the windows and the wheels are unrepentant and troublemaking. Fucking ugly horrible Chinks really.

Imagine that a driver needs to foot 100 over dollars for rental excluding gas and driving for more than 12 hours a day. Put yourself in the driver's shoes,won't you want to make more???
