Police have arrested two suspects aged 51 and 55 who are believed to be responsible for a series theft of metal items on Saturday.
Officers arrested the suspects in the vicinity of Jalan Papan where they were trying to sell their loot between 9.30am and 12pm. Preliminary investigations indicated that the duo is believed to be responsible for several similar cases reported in Jurong.
On Feb 25, a police report was lodged for the theft of metal items such as metal bars, hooks and chains in the vicinity of Pioneer Place. Following the report, officers from Jurong Police Division conducted enquiries and follow-up investigations in a bid to apprehend the suspect.
The two suspects will be charged in court on March 5 for the offence of Theft with Common Intention under Section 379 read with Section 34 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224.
