SHAH ALAM: A drug dealer died after jumping off his fourth floor apartment unit in Taman Bunga Negara Section 27 here to evade arrest during a police raid. The 29-year-old man jumped off his balcony when the police raiding party burst through his door at about 4.30pm on Thursday.
He died on the spot. Another man who had also jumped off the balcony managed to escape. Police were initially not aware about the two men who had jumped off the balcony. They only realised that they were missing after being told by six other men who were in the apartment at the time of the raid.
Police discovered the body of the drug dealer sprawled on the ground floor of the apartment when they were leaving after the raid. Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Zahedi Ayob said the six men detained, aged between 21 to 27, were factory and restaurant workers. “Our investigations show that the deceased was the one who supplied the drugs to the other men.
“He also had a criminal record for theft,” he said. He added that police found syabu weighing 0.05gm during the raid. ACP Zahedi said three of the those arrested tested positive for drugs and have been remanded. The others were released on bail.
