Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad's rocky relationship with Johor's royal family was once again laid bare on Sunday (April 28) when he reminded the southern state's Crown Prince that the latter's post was "not permanent".

The relationship between Dr Mahathir and the Johor royal family became testy after Kuala Lumpur's retracted its decision to accede to the International Criminal Court (ICC) and on appointments to the state government.

The clash of these two giants following Malaysia's historic first-ever change of government a year ago was inevitable, given the Premier's low tolerance for royal interference, and the insistence by Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar and Tunku Ismail that their family remain sovereign over Johor.

When addressing reporters at China World Hotel on Sunday (April 28), Malaysia’s Prime Minister did not hold back in his response to the comment.

He was quoted by Malay Mail as saying: “He’s not big, he’s a small fry. If he thinks he’s big, go and vote and bring me down.”

Some, however, expressed reservations on the grounds that entering the political arena would expose him to slander and mudslinging.

One Instagram user by the name of andrewrazaly said: “If you're going to run, you will have to focus 100 percent and not spend time flying helicopters and racing cars.”

The prince responded: “Wrong, I will still carry on with my hobbies. That's what keeps people sane.”

“And you can focus 100 percent and still fail. I will fly whenever I want because it's not the government’s helicopter,” he added.

JOHOR BARU: While going around the housing estates in the city lately, I noticed that rubbish is left everywhere, along the road, in the drains and even near signboards.
The piles include bulk waste like old mattress and broken furniture as well as garden waste.

It is appalling to see rubbish marring the city. I even spotted a broken toilet bowl dumped along the road in Jalan Maju.

JOHOR BARU: While going around the housing estates in the city lately, I noticed that rubbish is left everywhere, along the road, in the drains and even near signboards.
The piles include bulk waste like old mattress and broken furniture as well as garden waste.

It is appalling to see rubbish marring the city. I even spotted a broken toilet bowl dumped along the road in Jalan Maju.

Those rubbish you mentioned are left there by irresponsinle contractors after doing renovation. They do not want to dump it in a proper place where there are charges.its not only in johore, but also all over the country marring the environment. We do not have to tell you who these contractors are.
Sungai kim kim pollution is just another example of these irresponsible business people.

The current sultanate is not from the lines that originated from malacca. Sultan Mahmud Shah II of Johor had died in 1699 without an heir. That was the last of the sultan that descended from malacca throne.
The current sultan are from bugis mercenaries that served the sultan fighting europeans like the dutch and portuguese.and fight for territories against the minangkabau and achehnese.
