Kuala Lumpur, Jan.23 : Former Malaysian Prime Minister, Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, has reiterated that the September 11, 2001 attack on the New York World Trade Center was staged and denied that his statement was a publicity stunt.

"What do I gain from a publicity stunt? I am merely going by a public statement. I am not going to be a Prime Minister any more unless you (turning to a journalist) want me to," The Star quoted him, as telling reporters yesterday after launching a two-volume book by Syed Salem Albukhary entitled Civilizations, Nomadic Migrations, E
mpires and the Trail of Islam.

The former prime minister, who had watched a three-hour video, which showed the attack and collapse of the towers, had suggested in his blog that the twins towers and a third building collapsed "demolition style."

Dr Mahathir who suggested that local television stations show the three-hour video, went on to state that Arabs were "not clever enough" to stage such a coordinated attack involving four planes.

On being insensitive to the victims, Dr Mahathir replied: "I am being more sensitive to the victims as I am saying this is done deliberately."

Al-Qaeda commander claims responsibility for 9/11 attacks

KARACHI: Senior al-Qaeda commander Mustafa Abu al-Yazid has claimed in an exclusive interview with Geo News that al-Qaeda carried out the 9/11 attacks on the US and that 19 of its supporters launched the devastating attacks. He added that many of his comrades were involved in training the hijackers.

These comments were made in an interview with Najeeb Ahmed that was broadcast on Monday on Geo TV's Aaj Kamran Khan Kay Saath programme. This was the first detailed interview in five years of a senior al-Qaeda leader.

The 53-year-old Mustafa Abu al-Yazid is also known by the name of Sheikh Saeed. He was born on Dec 17, 1955 in Egypt. In 1981, he was incarcerated for three years in connection with the assassination of the then Egyptian president Anwar Saadat. In 1988, he became a member of al-Qaeda and went to Afghanistan. Later, in 1991, he moved to Sudan where he worked for Osama bin Laden as an accountant. By 1996 he returned to Afghanistan and taken over the responsibility of handling al-Qaeda's finances.

Bin Laden Claims Responsibility for 9/11

WASHINGTON — Usama bin Laden (search ) made his first televised appearance in more than a year Friday in which he admitted for the first time ordering the Sept. 11 attacks and accused President Bush of "misleading" the American people.

Injecting himself into the campaign four days ahead of the presidential election, bin Laden said the United States can avoid another Sept. 11-style attack if it stops threatening the security of Muslims.

In the portion of the tape that was broadcast, the Al Qaeda (search) leader refrained from directly warning of new attacks, although he said "there are still reasons to repeat what happened."

"Your security is not in the hands of Kerry, Bush or Al Qaeda. Your security is in your own hands," bin Laden said, referring to the president and his Democratic opponent. "Any state that does not mess with our security, has naturally guaranteed its own security."

Admitting for the first time that he ordered the Sept. 11 attacks, bin Laden said he did so because of injustices against the Lebanese and Palestinians by Israel and the United States.

Al-Qaeda accuses Iran of 9/11 lie

Al-Qaeda's deputy leader, Ayman al-Zawahiri, has blamed Iran for spreading the theory that Israel was behind the 11 September 2001 attacks.

In an audio tape posted on the internet, Zawahiri insisted al-Qaeda had carried out the attacks on the US.

He accused Iran, and its Hezbollah allies, of trying to discredit Osama Bin Laden's network.

Correspondents say the comments underline al-Qaeda's increasing public hostility towards Iran.

In a two-hour audiotape posted on an Islamist website, Osama Bin Laden's chief deputy responded to questions posted by al-Qaeda sympathisers.

In response to a question about persistent rumours in the Middle East that Israel was involved in the 9/11 attacks, Zawahiri said the rumour had begun on the Hezbollah television station, Al-Manar.

"The purpose of this lie is clear - [to suggest] that there are no heroes among the Sunnis who can hurt America as no-one else did in history, he said.

"Iranian media snapped up this lie and repeated it."

Zawahiri went on to criticise Iran for co-operating with the US in its 2001 invasion of Afghanistan, that helped to oust the Taleban.

"Iran's aim here is also clear - to cover up its involvement with America in invading the homes of Muslims in Afghanistan and Iraq," he said.

This is the second verbal attack on Iran, a predominantly Shia Muslim country.

Earlier this month, in an audiotape marking the fifth anniversary of the fall of Iraq's leader Saddam Hussein, the al-Qaeda deputy accused Iran of planning to annexe southern Iraq and the eastern part of the Arabian peninsula.

Since when did World Trade Center Tower 1 or the North Tower's building manager William Rodriguez got demoted to a janitor? He did lost his job because he insisted he heard a loud explosion in the basement before the plane hit. Went down to investigate and found it devastated and a fifty ton hydraulic press destroyed. He was hailed a hero, White House function and all but was treated like a pariah after he refused to change his story. He was never mentioned in the 911 Commission Report.

No landing, it had to dip down from an incline, I believe one and a half football field length before hitting the Pentagon Ist ring outer structure according to the US Government. And since there were no scoured marks on the grass lawn along the supposed flight path, we can safely assumed it was flying three feet above the ground at speeds of over 400 miles an hour, an aerodynamic impossibility. And the US Government claimed that the plane had vaporised in the inferno! We should always take a conclusive account from one source with a pinch of salt. But when numerous different accounts are taken in and compared, it leaves a taste you can never get rid of.
