Singapore has been one of the strongest advocates when it comes to the free flow of goods and services, but there must be limits to the movement of people.

Otherwise there will be less push for businesses to be more productive, and "more fundamentally, you become a society where people don't feel it's their own society", said Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam yesterday at an economics forum in India.

"This is a reality not just because of (President Donald) Trump in the US or Brexit in UK. It is a reality all over the world,'' he said when asked a question about tighter restrictions on Indian professionals moving to Singapore.

Noting that a third of Singapore's workforce is already made up of foreigners, he added: "It would be mindless to have an open border without any policy framework to govern and constrain the flow of people into your job market. It will not just be wrong politics but wrong economics."

This ceca thing is only a big issue when it threatens chinese majority population.
Malays have been overwhelmed for hundreds of years by illegal immigrants from china and india and had a understanding that immigrants can be granted citizenship privided malays are given special privilege.
That agreement was never honoured to the malays and instead their lands were seized and turn into hdb Flats and malay community dispersed denying them of a majority constituency.
And new chinese immigranst are still granted citizenship ship which malays are powerless to stop.

Why no one from opposition parties brought up this CECA issue? Why no one brought up the U-turn policy of wearing mask during covid-19? Also no one brought out the issue of being condemned as idiot by CCS in the leaked audio,?

Yesterday we were at Two Jack Lake.

We went early at 830am. So we had our choice of spots to setup our shelter. We parked our cars by the lakeside shore and set up shelter about 50m away on the grass patch more uphill to the side but still next to the water side.

At about noon heavy rain and hail. So we started packing up some of our things. But we were not sure if we were calling it a day yet.

An Indian guy came to me and asked if we were leaving. I said we have not decided yet. He said to let him know if we were going to leave. I said sure. But I dunno where he went to after.

It was very cold and windy and we were dressed in shorts. We decided to pack up the shelter. We could just stay at the shoreline next to our cars and kayaks.

My friends went to take down the shelter. A pinoy family that was further inland from our spot about 30m came to my friends and asked if they could take the spot. So they said ok.

The Indian guy then ran to my friends and started arguing saying he asked me first pointing to me in the distance.

So there was an argument between the indian and filipino.

In the end the Indian won.

You guys in sinkieland will likely be overrun with Indians due to CECA. Good luck to you guys man.
