He told the civil service at EXCELLENCE IN PUBLIC SERVICE AWARD CEREMONY that "...an environment had to be created in which officers can work hand-in-glove with the people they serve (yawn) blah blah blah....there is a clear desire by the electorate that they want to be heard (yawn yawn)...to transform (the latest gahmen buzz word, yawn) the way we govern...(koon liau...zzzzz).

The Northlight School example he quoted on how the civil service co-operates with the public is a very, very poor example. He cited the parents, partners but no mention of the civil service's role - unless he was referring to extremely dedicated school principal there. For her, the best way moving forward was in fact to work with people in the private sector and not so much with the MOE. This lady is highly respected in the educational circles and truly appreciated by her ex-students as well as their parents.

So, now you tell me: You really think the Civil Service is independent and can run without the PAP Ministers telling them what to do? The Civil Service College is there to ensure that all civil servants are indoctrinated on how policies are to be handled and this has literally ensured the continuity of PAP rule.

But now that there are many civil servants who are openly rebelling against their former masters, I forsee alot of "soul searching" (aka: witch hunt) to come once the cabinet is announced. BRACE YOURSELF folks!
