【星島日報報道】擁有香港永久居留權的前美國中情局（CIA）情報人員李振成（Jerry Chun Shing Lee），去年1月被美國指控為中國當間諜後一直還押，同年5月被控三項間諜罪名，指李振成向中國政府透露危害美國的國防資料，最高可被判終身監禁。李振成承認罪串謀進行間諜活動，將美國國防機密資料交予中國政府的罪名。
根據法庭文件紀錄，李振成將於周三在維珍尼亞州亞歷山德里亞聯邦法院，出席更改答辯聆訊（change-of-plea hearing）。法庭文件紀錄沒有顯示他將會承認哪一條控罪，亦不清楚他是否會請求較輕的指控或較輕的判決，而李的代表律師回覆媒體時，表示不予置評。
起訴書披露，李振成由2010年起接觸中國情報官員，對方更即時給他10萬美元現金及提出「照顧他一生」（they would take care of him for life）來換取合作，中間人是曾任香港警察、李的生意拍檔。約兩周後，李振成主動向一名CIA前同事匯報，曾有中方人員接觸，但並無提及金錢回報及照顧他一生之說。
直到2012年初，有美國情報人員在中國被殺害和拘禁，美國傳媒指他重創美國在華諜網，並可能導致美國至少20名CIA特工在俄羅斯被曝光、捉拿及殺害。CIA開始對李振成起疑，通知聯邦調查局（FBI），FBI探員在李於2012年返美期間，在其下榻酒店房間發現懷疑私通中國的證據，包括兩本寫有中情局人員和卧底的真實姓名、電話號碼等資料的記事簿。李振成於去年1月在紐約的甘迺迪國際機場被捕。

[Sing Tao Daily reported] Jerry Chun Shing Lee, a former CIA intelligence officer with permanent residency in Hong Kong, was remanded in January after being accused by the United States of being a spy in China. In May of the same year, he was charged with three spies. The crime refers to Li Zhencheng’s disclosure of the defense materials that harm the United States to the Chinese government, and can be sentenced to life imprisonment. Li Zhencheng pleaded guilty to conspiracy to carry out espionage and handed over US secret confidential information to the Chinese government.
According to court records, Li Zhencheng will attend a change-of-plea hearing in the Federal Court of Alexandria, Virginia. The court record did not indicate which charge he would admit, and it was not clear whether he would ask for a lighter allegation or a lighter sentence. When Li’s lawyer responded to the media, he declined to comment.
The indictment disclosed that Li Zhencheng had contacted Chinese intelligence officials since 2010. The other party immediately gave him $100,000 in cash and proposed "they would take care of him for life" in exchange for cooperation. The middleman was formerly Hong Kong. Police, Lee's business partner. About two weeks later, Li Zhencheng took the initiative to report to a former CIA colleague who had contact with Chinese personnel but did not mention the return of money and the care of his life.
Until the beginning of 2012, US intelligence personnel were killed and detained in China. The US media said that he had hit the US spy network in China and may cause at least 20 CIA agents in the United States to be exposed, captured and killed in Russia.
