HDB will find ways to help the developer.
They could hike the rental and eventually one by one the stall owner will give up.
It have happened before.

It's very sad. It used to be that if you would work hard, you can set up a small biz as a hawker or market stall owner. You could also earn a decent living. In fact, I have a friend whose mum is a fishmonger and she could earn at least 5000 a month. And that was 10 years ago. I would still believe most stall owners can still make a living out of selling vegetables, meats, fish and etc. With privatisation, it is depriving ordinary men a chance to feed themselves. Moreover, if NTUC or Sheng Siong is to dominate this sector, I guess the ultimate losers are us, the lesser mortals. We have less choices. Even if they continue to rent out to these stall owners, I am sure the rents will sky-rocket, considering the prices they paid. So u see the whole chain...big players pay top prices, squeeze stall owners with higher rents. Stalls can call it quit or carry on biz. If carry on, they either have to make do with lower profit margin or raise prices to even breakeven. You go figure who is the winner and who is the loser.

We can always go the way of the internet unit purchase.

If PAP go a certain way, we should always be 20 steps ahead already to prevent them from setting up policies to prevent us otherwise or are costly to us .
In return making their own departments bigger and bigger .

We should excisize all methods of cost savings .

All food and vegetable producers should be able to enjoy the open market . And Store owners must be able to buy from anyone . There must be no single player.

Yes, all these MIWs are so "intelligent" that they want to corporatise everything so that they can be the ones providing jobs for the citizens and secured their power. This leaves the citizens with only one way to earn a living, that's to work for them and be beholden to them only.

wtf lah

Since when is PAP scared to lose votes?

They just imported several hundred thousand new voters, gave them scholarships and jobs and job training and housing and all the 154th media fawning attention. These several hundreds thousand are confirmed PAP voters.
