Arrest new road bully problem

I REFER to Wednesday's letter, "Walkway cyclists: A new road bully".
The danger posed by cyclists will get worse if the authorities are not serious in taking enforcement action against those who flout the rules and in stepping up the building of separate cycling paths.
The Land Transport Authority says that construction of separate cycling paths is not feasible in land-scarce Singapore, but if they are serious and creative enough, these can be built in almost every part of Singapore.
It is not safe standing at bus shelters or getting up and down buses if cyclists continue to ride through the shelters.

Cyclists ignoring road rules

I MUST agree with Mr Yiang Kok Hon's letter, "Walkway cyclists: A new road bully", on Wednesday.
I, too, have been a victim of such "bullies" on many occasions.
I was even run down by a cyclist at a pedestrian crossing once. Not only did the cyclist not stop, he swore at me and warned that I would suffer more injuries if I did not give way.
I have seen and witnessed on many occasions cyclists who fail to stop at pedestrian crossings or road junctions, and who pedal through under the assumption that all vehicles will stop for them.
