<!-- START OF : div id="storytext"--><!-- more than 4 paragraphs -->I REFER to yesterday's letter by Mr Ace Kindred Cheong, 'Prevent jaywalking accidents at VivoCity', suggesting the removal of the bus stop opposite VivoCity.
I do not think this will reduce the number of jaywalkers. I have seen jaywalkers there, even though there is an underpass and an overhead bridge.
Most of the time, jaywalking is not a result of inconvenience but of attitude. Jaywalkers will give excuses such as distance or tiredness.
If removing the bus stop will reduce the number of jaywalkers, I do not mind. But to be frank, will that solve the problem? Leo Ann Nee (Miss)
