STOMPer Nurhidayah said she felt humiliated when a bouncer at St James Power Station refused to let her and her friends into a club even though they had made sure they fit the club profile.

In a letter to St James Power Station, she said:

"Last Saturday (June 27), my friends and I were rejected entry to Movida. We called up before hand to ensure the age limit and dresscode as we understand that due to its club profile, Movida may sometimes reject customer's entry.

"We even specifically asked to define the dresscode just so that we will be able to gain entry.

"On the Saturday night that we were there, not only were we not allowed entry to Movida, we were told off in a way which I sincerely believe is rude and very unethical.

"The bouncer, whose name I did not get, looked at us, shooked his head and with hand gestures simply said 'NO'.

"I was in utter shock. Considering that a few of my friends are actually members of Dragonfly and Powerhouse, we couldnt belive St James Power Station, a well-known night entertainment management employs its workers with basically no form of manners at all.

"Regardless of the club profile which Movida claims it might have, we are still your paying customers and we deserve some form of explaination or at the very least some form of courtesy even if we are not able to gain entry. Needless to say I was very much dissapointed.

As i have mentioned, we called up before hand specifically to asked regarding Movida's club profile and the extend that we had to go through just so that we are able to enter.

"Mind you, my friends and I are working adults who holds executive positions each in our own
industries. hence I felt utterly humiliated when we we rejected with no explaination and in such a rude manner."

The STOMPer said she received a reply from the management, but was dissatisfied with it.

This is the reply from the management:

"Dear Nurhidayah,

"Thank you for taking the time to write to us.

"In any event, we would like to apologize if you were offended by what was said by our staff, which may have been misinterpreted but their intention was not to be disrespectful.

"However, as is the case with all nightspots, the management reserves the right of entry and also to change any conditions at any time without prior notice; we do not have any obligation to disclose why someone may be refused entry.

"However, if our staff were rude or acted unprofessionally, we will not hesitate to take action.

"Thank you for taking the time to highlight what happened that night so that we can take the necessary steps to improve our customer service training in all areas."
