A DOCTOR was acquitted of molesting a clinic assistant on Thursday. A district court ruled that the prosecution had failed to prove its case against Dr Boon Seng Poh, 41, for touching her breast on Oct 18, 2006, and then hugging her two weeks later in his Ubi Crescent clinic. On the witness stand, the 31-year-old assistant said Dr Boon tugged her tank top and pulled her bra down when she saw him about her chicken pox. She also claimed that he complimented her on having 'nice breasts'. In the other incident on Nov 1, she said that she had gone to leave case sheets on the doctor's table when he hugged her from behind. Defence lawyer Sant Singh argued that the assistant had concocted the accusations as Dr Boon had intended to transfer her to his Punggol clinic and had advised her to look for another job as he was unhappy with her performance. Through Senior Counsel Singh, Dr Boon said he is very relieved.
