Do you serve your own interests more than others?

I mean if you are the keeper of hundred of thousands of dollars or millions of dollars, will you uphold your principles or values?

Or you will say, what the heck the old man cons people, benefited himself, his families and relatives rather than the peasants population, I might as well help myself to the spoils.

Because he doesn't set a good example, should we abandon our principles and values too?

How does one sustain his values and principles if the world is increasing filled with loose morals and no principles?
