Public wants Ming Yi to disrobe


Some Singaporeans have expressed disappointment at Ming Yi after he was found guilty yesterday and there are even calls for him to disrobe!

Many are of the view that since Ming Yi was already pronounced guilty by the court, he should not continue to dorn the saffron robes and should draw a clear demarcation between himself and Buddhism.

Mr Liu, an owner of a hardware shop said:

“The Ming Yi saga will have an influence on how the laity view monkhood. He should disrobe as a Buddhist monk.”

Madam Fan, a housewife added:

“I am very disappointed with Ming Yi. I never expect as a Buddhist monk, he leads such an extravagant lifestyle. He should be punished by the law.”

President of the Singapore Buddhist Federation Venerable Kuang Shen opined that it is Ming Yi’s choice to decide if he wants to disrobe as it is his freedom to do so.

He said:

“This is a personal action of Ming Yi, nobody feels good about the entire episode. He has to be responsible for his karma.”

Ming Yi was one of the most prominent faces of Buddhism in Singapore. He became a Buddhist monk soon after completing his studies at Raffles Junior College.

After he founded Ren Ci, he remained as its CEO for more than 10 years before he resigned in 2007. He was the Secretary-General of the Singapore Buddhist Federation from 1996 to 2004.

it would be interesting to know how he is feeling that his wonderful streak of career can be brought to an abrupt halt by his obsession about one man - raymond yeung.

No Father Joachim Kang is still a catholic priest.. Bishop Nicholas Chia issued a statement recently.. Currently Fr. kang is not attached to any parish form what i know.. waiting for the bishop to assign him..

In the buddhist community it is not the layman's choice on whether Ming Yi should disrobe. It is the Sanghas community who should decide. The sadness of the whole saga is that Singapore Buddhist Federation has been quiet throughout the whole event. It produces a very bad image that the Buddhist community condone such act of Ming Yi.

about 3 yrs ago, my li'l brother LEETAHSAR has already written about botak. it was his intention and hope that he might be reading it. his wide networking of friends had revealed that goh kah heng was spotted in taipei 101 shopping with a guy or taking business class again with a guy (whether similar or different).

another pal of his revealed an even more hideous encouter that he was almost accosted.

all these were events revealed years back. botak could be behaving too arrogant or involved in too many heart affairs. it could be one of his bfs that could have tekan him.

the matter is far from over.

the shit-times has all the opportunity to delve deeper into his personal life. more shits would be dug out and those shits would definitely fly high and wide.:(

there was another younger about 27 y.o ex-personal aide who shouldered the blame of possession of XXX vcds/dvds.

the question here is who was the actual owner of those obscene G discs? those discs are easily available in taiwan at a very cheapo price of 3 pcs for 100 yuan or S$5 only.

it's all over the place where they openly catergorise and sell it.

definitely, the ex-aide didn't travel that often to have bought it. it was found in one of botak's condo in CORNWALL GARDEN and the aide's home.
