It has been more than two months since a Philippine coastguard fatally shot a Taiwanese fisherman suspected of operating in disputed waters.

The diplomatic dispute has not yet been resolved.

Now, more than 16,000 Filipino workers in Taiwan are about to lose their jobs as a result of a conflict that they say has nothing to do with them.

Al Jazeera's Jamela Alindogan reports from Manila.
