A SMRT bus captain staff has been diagnosed with Covid-19.
Bus captain last drove service 972
According to SMRT Road Holdings President Tan Kian Heong, the bus captain tested positive for Covid-19 on Mar. 31.
He was last at work on Mar. 27 for bus service 972.
The bus captain had his rest day on Mar. 28.
On Mar. 29, he felt unwell and saw a doctor. He visited the same doctor on Mar. 31 and was conveyed to the hospital.
“He is currently warded and in a stable condition. We are closely monitoring his condition and offering assistance to him and his family,” said Tan.
The vehicles and premises that the bus captain had been in contact with have been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.
SMRT is currently assisting the Ministry of Health (MOH) in the contact tracing process.
Tan added:
“The health and well-being of our commuters and staff are our top priority. We would like to assure commuters that all necessary precautions are being taken to safeguard the well-being of our commuters and staff. SMRT has stepped up its cleaning of high commuter touchpoints in our premises, facilities and vehicles since late January.”
SMRT employees reminded to minimise cross station contact
According to an internal HR circular seen by Mothership, the staff is currently warded and in stable condition.
The circular, which was dated Apr. 1, reminded SMRT employees to take precautionary measures such as practising safe-distancing between colleagues and taking care of one’s personal hygiene.
SMRT Corporation has also instructed its employees to minimise cross-station and zone coverage as much as possible

In my opinion, even if you took this bus without wearing a mask, if the bus driver did not cough or sneeze in your direction, you won't be diagnosed with Covid-19. Agree or disagree?

We are all Schrodinger’s cat now.

Perhaps so, but we simply have to take whatever measures are necessary to try and be safe. There is no fool-proof or risk-free method. There is always an element of risk, but no need to be too afraid too. The problem is that some people instead of trying to be helpful, are forever crying father crying mother or bitching or lying all the time. I am sure you know who I mean.

Same here but I seldom eat it because it is very messy and can easily stain clothes.
Oranges and mangosteens have one benefit in common - a very thick skin which is not too difficult to remove.

I like mangosteens :coffee::coffee::coffee:

Maybe some didn't board the bus, but went up the bus to ask the driver for directions etc before boarding another bus.

i believe that even no cough,it will still spread as human breathe out or talk, it will follow out with the breathe.

In my opinion, if you boarded the bus and the driver didn't talk to you, (or coughed and sneezed towards you) he is not close enough to have breathed the virus onto you.

The driver could have talked to other passengers and any of those passengers could have infected you.

Either way, you are fucked.

That's entirely possible. If you had boarded a bus and sat next to an infected person (both not wearing masks), then it's possible you have been infected. But if you are worried for me, I didn't board bus 972.

Don't worry. Just wear a surgical mask on public transport, at crowded places, and in indoors public areas. Pay close attention to hand washing and touching of high-touch surfaces too.

Do not ask for directions. You have your mobile phone, Google maps, and SMRT guide online. Use those fuckers. If you're outside, try not to speak to strangers. Your parents taught you that when you were a little fuck, and now that you're a big fuck, put those pearls of wisdom into practice.

Other than that, be content you've done your best. Even if you find out someone in your contact zone became infected, just keep calm and carry on as per normal. Take your temperature daily and be responsible.
