Two nabbed for receiving stolen iPhones

Two Singaporean men will be charged in court today for dishonestly receiving stolen property worth an estimated $1.4 million.
They were arrested by the Airport Police Division, after an air cargo agent reported on Sep 20 that a pallet of cargo containing about 3,400 pieces of iPhones was stolen from the dnata Cargo Terminal in Changi Airfreight Centre (CAC) two days earlier.
The men, aged 32 and 33, were nabbed following investigation and close co-operation with the Royal Malaysia Police.
The police were able to recover much of the stolen smartphones and cash amounting to about S$130,000, which are believed to be proceeds from disposing some of the phones. Some 2,300 pieces of the stolen devices are believed to have been sent out of the country.
Police are also looking for Ong Chip Siong, a 30-year-old Singaporean man, to assist in the investigations. Those who are aware of his whereabouts should contact the police at 1800-225 0000. All information submitted will be kept strictly confidential.
