PRIME Minister Lee Hsien Loong met Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on the sidelines of the Copenhagen climate conference on Thursday. The two leaders noted that Singapore and Iran enjoy 'amiable ties' and agreed to take steps to further develop relations. They also swapped views on the climate summit.

They discussed the H1N1 flu pandemic, and Mr Lee told Mr Nasheed of Singapore's move to donate 1,500 doses of H1N1 vaccine to the Maldives. He said Singapore is happy to help the island nation contain the spread of the flu virus among its population.
