Oppo parties should unite and speak up in unison now to demand PAP govt audits temasick, GIC and reserves before they call for elections.
The audit should be carried out by independent auditors, better still, if they are from Hongkong and taiwan.
OK, it may be cumbersome to at least take 54 man years to audit the reserves, however, lets have the brief details on how much are the movables and immovables--local and overseas. And where are the monies kept.
Further request to probe further on how reserves are linked to Temasick and GIC.
I think voters should know all these detailes about public money before they cast votes and not just receive some GST credits to decide at the polls
Oppo parties should voice out this issue loud becos this is the only issue that will strike the chord among the voters--be they new citizens or locals.
Dont just gather crowds and hear loud cheers, becos PAP will still win, they have the TVcock and toilet papers.
Oppo parties should let the voters know without auditing the reserves and public investment arms, the elections are just about upgrading and handouts, and voters are not voting for a Govt. The essence of elections is about honesty and sincerity of an elected Govt.
oppo parties should also highlight that voters are also accountable for the public monies, and dont just vote for short-term running repairs.
If let say, there is no money in the reserves, and freakishly ,all oppo parties win the next GE, how are you to run the country ???
if all else fails, all oppo parties should boycott the next elections if the present govt refuses to open the books.
