Decomposed body found tied to tree
SHAH ALAM: A decomposed body, tied to a tree and believed to be that of a Chinese man, was found in a rubber estate in Sungai Kandis. A rubber tapper who made the gruesome discovery after tracing a stench, informed the police.
Police are unsure if the remains are that of Victor Liew Shan Horng, 36, who had been reported missing since Sunday. Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Noor Azam Jamaludin said police had not ruled out the possibility that the deceased had been beaten to death.
On Sunday, Sheng Mei Ying, 39, lodged a report at the Sri Muda police station at about 11pm after her husband Liew, who had gone fishing in the morning near Kota Kemuning, did not return home. A passer-by who last saw Liew on Sunday said he was seen being beaten up by four men before they drove him off in a car.
Later yesterday, his family members were visibly distraught when they walked out of the mortuary at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah. Liew’s 41-year-old sister, Ivy, confirmed that the remains were that of her brother’s from a birthmark on the deceased’s body.
