Police arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with loanshark activities at Tampines while conducting roadblock duties early on Wednesday morning along Tampines Street 31.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect is believed to be involved in several cases of loanshark harassment at Tampines, where he had splashed paint and scrawled graffiti on the walls of debtors' units.
During a spot check on a taxi, officers from the Bedok Police Division found the passenger in possession of loanshark-related paraphernalia comprising markers, six plastic bags containing paint, a pair of plastic glove, a handphone believed to be containing debtors' records and a note book believed to be containing addresses of debtors.
The man was placed under arrest for his suspected involvement in loansharking activities and the items seized as case exhibits.
