Travel agency calls me 'Fatty' in CNY e-card

Was it an honest mistake, or a term of endearment? Anyway you look at it, calling a person 'Fatty', no matter how close the person may be to you, can result in offence taken, as in this case where a STOMPer received one CNY card addressed to him this way.

The STOMPer emailed STOMP about the incident, where he was sent an email from the company ironically apologising for having made a mistake in a card sent earlier.

The email sent to him read:

Hi Fatty

There was an mistake in our Chinese New Year e-Greeting card; which your name is appeared wrongly in the eCard.

We sincerely apologise for any confusion or inconvenience caused.

You can view the updated card we prepared for you using the following URL:

XXX Travel wise you Happy New Year and Gong Xi Fa Cai.

Regards

The STOMPer's response?

He told STOMP:

"Look at the way I am being address in the email. To be frank, I’m quite offended.

"Fatty is not my nickname. I am offended when they send me CNY greetings and addressed me as “Fatty”. And when they apologised, they still used “Fatty”. I think this is rather unprofessional and rude."
